Birth: December 1886 Tuggranong, NSW, Australia Death: 7 May 1918 (age 31) Jericho, Palestine, Killed in Action Cemetery or Memorial: Jerusalem War Cemetery, Palestine Father: Thomas Phillip MAXWELL (1858 - 17 June 1930) Mother: Mary Maria WALL (1863 - 26 July 1935) Thomas gave his occupation as Stockman, (he was a Station Manager) when he enlisted 21 September 1914 at Sydney, and his next of kin his father Thomas Phillip Maxwell of John Street Camden and later Queanbeyan. Thomas served in the 7th Australian Light Horse Regiment A.I.F. He departed Sydney on the 'Ayrshire' 20 December 1914 and arrived Gallipoli 15 May 1915. He arrived Alexandria from Gallipoli 25 December 1915. Thomas' brothers Trooper (1326) Edward Crofton Maxwell and Trooper (1325) Michael Patrick Maxwell also served in the 7th Australian Light Horse Regiment A.I.F. Sergeant Thomas Joseph MAXWELL was killed in action during an air raid at Jericho, Palestine 7 May 1918 age 31. |
